Hacklab.to’s laser-cutter really *does* play the Mario Bros theme!

Yesterday, I dropped in at the Hacklab in Kensington Market (it’s an amazing place), and saw the laser cutter do its thing. And you know what? It plays an absolutely perfect Super Mario Theme. Seriously.

HP ScanJet 5P Easter Egg, Ode to Joy

-Turn off the scanner
-Rotate the SCSI ID selector to select ID 0
-Press and hold the green button
-Turn on the scanner
5. When the light comes on, you can release the button

After this the scanner will release it’s inner creativity and play you the Ode to Joy on its stepper motor
